Hookanory Mini Monster C.A.L. Day #1 – Leggit!
PLEASE NOTE THE COMPETITION HAS NOW ENDED BUT YOU CAN DOWNLOAD A PDF COPY OF THE PATTERN FROM MY ETSY SHOP HERE
I’m so glad you could make it!!!
Franken-egg was made from all the scrappy stash yarn left in the basket – so you can use any scrap yarn to make yours as it only takes a very small amount of each colour, however if you want some yarn suggestions a great cotton choice is Sirdar Happy Cotton available in cute little 20g balls which is plenty for any of the colours. Marriners yarns do a good value Halloween pack but you’d have to sub the grey trousers for purple or you could check out their website and buy individual balls of their Mini DK range. (I used grey, neon green and black from this range and a scrap of glitter grey I had in my stash – I think from Aldi) or Scheepjes colour crafter have a great range of colours and if you just need some good value yarn to boost your stash you can’t go wrong with Stylecraft Special DK.
This Mini C.A.L. will take part over the next 5 days with one pattern part published here each day. Friday will be the last day, then you will have the weekend to assemble and photograph your monster ready to enter our Fabulous competition! (If you want obviously..lol!) To enter all you need to do is take a photo of your Franken-egg in a creative and interesting way. I’m looking for a fun photo, rather than the bestest made monster in the world, so that means you have just as much chance of winning if you’re a beginner , as if you’re a seasoned pro crocheter!
TO ENTER: email me your pic to: firstname.lastname@example.org
DM me and tag me in on your social media @hookanory and use the hashtag #hookanoryminimonstercal. All the rules are on the Intro blog post and in the small images below.
DEADLINE is Midnight GMT on the 31st October, and winner will be announced by Midnight GMT on the 1st November 2022.
I used Marriners DK for my Monster , but any DK yarn will do, or if you want to make a mini-mini, or a chunky monster, go right ahead, as long as you use my pattern, (no customising please, apart from colours if you wish).
If you substitute yarn, just make sure that all yarns used are of the same weight throughout.
Here’s an example of how the size and proportions are affected using Scheepjes catona, versus marriners DK – these were my prototypes w.i.p.s !
You could WIN a set of these cute handmade Hookanory Stitch-markers in our comp, but if you can’t wait, they’re available in our Etsy shop HERE
