MY ETSY LISTING HAS BEEN CLONED!

FAKE LISTING !!! BEWARE I ONLY LIST ON ETSY!

I’m so sad to say that in preparing to write my first blog post on my website, I find that this company has cloned my Etsy listing for my Rainbow Stitchmarker Set and are offering them for sale using my photos and listing details!

So instead of my first post being a nice jolly one introducing myself and my business; I’m here offering a WARNING!

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SITE – IT’S FAKE – IF THEY’VE STOLEN MY LISTING -THEY WILL HAVE STOLEN THE REST FOR SURE!!!

Thankfully I’ve trademarked my brand so I shall be pursuing this via the legal team of the FSB and reporting it to Action Fraud.

Please watch out for these pop up clone websites, I’ve been a victim of it from a buyers point of view and now from a designers point of view. My advice to anyone who has their own creative business is simple:

  1. Get Trademarked! – Before you do anything, before you publish your first design/product –
  2. Get Covered! – For market sellers, join the National Market traders Federation (NMTF)- they give you product, public and employers liability insurance in with their membership, and have legal advice lines and great reductions AA fleet cover that more than pays for your membership. The other trade organisation I recommend is The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) who have a whole raft of member benefits including template cease and desist letters, employment contracts etc etc, insurance against HMRC investigations and a brilliant Free legal advice line that I have already had to use regarding trademark infringement, again the insurances alone are equal to the cost of cover privately so win win in my book!
  3. Google! – yourself regularly, it’s the easiest way to spot the scammers early.

So I’ve got to get on and sort this out now, but I shall be back with a nice post soon I hope and I’ll let you know how this goes!
