HOOKANORY FRIGHT CLUB
MINI MONSTER CAL 2025

What Is The Mini Monster CAL?

The Hookanory Fright Club Mini Monster Cal is a beginner friendly amigurumi crochet along which works from a simple base pattern adapted from my original mascot Humpfree The Rainbow Humpty.

Each year I try to include a different technique along with a different Monster theme.

Year 1 – 2022 saw Franken-egg with his flat top head, neck bolts and blocka-boots. There was also a little bit of spike stitch and basicsurface embroidery.

Year 2 – 2023 we had Humpkin the Humpty Pumpkin with his pufling pants using ribbing to make them sculptual and puffy. With beret detail and curlicue tendrils.

Year 3 – 2024 was the legend of Count Eggula with his 2 tone cape which involved back loop only/front loop only joins and a little more complex construction.

This year we’ve added some ‘in round’ colourwork and have gone heavily into surface embroidery to add all the bright costume detail to Señor Skelitegg!

My idea being that every year pushes participants to try a new technique or stretch their skills a little bit further. 😍

Don’t worry there will be plenty of tutorials for the embroidery!
